The Water Library offers water-themed STEM kits for use in your Wisconsin library or school!
With these kits, we enhance the traditional children’s library or school storytime with a water science topic and an introduction to the essentials of the scientific method: observation, hypothesis formation, testing, more observation, recording and conclusion-building. Included in each kit are a topical “science chat,” read-aloud books, a science experiment or activity, songs and craft ideas.
Our kits are appropriate for children ages three through nine, wonderful ages for taking an interdisciplinary approach to literacy using the STEM or STE(A)M (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Math) frame.
We have three STEM kits. All kits have been updated as of August 2018 with new science and literacy activities.
The kits are available for checkout directly from the Wisconsin Water Library at the “Borrow a STEM Kit“ link to your right. They have already started to travel. We created a Google Map to show you where they’ve been so far around Wisconsin.
We hope they will travel to your library or school!
